How Is the Final Rate Determined?
For every appointment, Sophia automatically calculates which amount applies. It does so in this order — as soon as one rule matches, the search stops:
RIZIV rate, if an extra honorarium is not allowed. For certain nomenclature codes, RIZIV regulations don't allow charging an extra honorarium on top of the official rate. In that case, Sophia always uses the RIZIV rate, even if you've configured a higher rate yourself.
Nomenclature rate, if configured. If no such restriction applies, and you have configured a custom rate for this specific nomenclature code (see Setting Your Own Rates), that rate is used.
Rate by duration. If no custom rate is configured for this nomenclature code, Sophia looks at your rates per appointment duration and uses the rate that matches the appointment's duration.
RIZIV rate, if no rates are configured. If neither a rate per nomenclature nor a rate per duration is configured, Sophia falls back to the official RIZIV rate.
