Billing

On this tab in a patient's record, you manage the invoicing details Sophia uses to bill for this patient's care.

TIP

For a new patient, Sophia automatically creates a first invoicing record, under the patient's own name. You don't necessarily start from an empty overview.

You can register several invoicing records. This is useful when a mutuality, insurance company, or medical house pays, instead of the patient directly.

Using the Table

Every field in the table is directly editable: name, email, street, house number, zip code, city, and the customer type. Changes are saved automatically, with a brief confirmation each time.

The four customer types are:

  • Patient
  • Medical house
  • Insurance fund
  • Insurance company

Preference and Active

Two checkboxes per row, also directly in the table:

  • Preference: tick this for a customer, and it's automatically unticked for every other customer of this patient. Only one preferred customer can exist at a time.
  • Active: simply on or off, with no further effect on other rows.

Adding a New Customer

Click the plus icon, and fill in: name, email, street, house number, zip code, city, customer type, and preferred/active if you want.

WARNING

Sophia doesn't check whether the required fields are actually filled in when creating a customer. Make sure everything is correct yourself, even if the screen shows no error for an empty field.

Deleting

Click the trash icon to delete a customer. This happens immediately, with no confirmation.

WARNING

Sophia doesn't warn you here if invoices already exist against this customer. Be careful when deleting a customer that may already be in use.

TIP

For more on requesting reimbursement from the mutuality, see eAttest and eFact.
