eAttest

eAttest is the electronic version of the classic paper attestation of care provided. Instead of printing an attestation on paper, you send it straight from the appointment to the mutuality, via eHealth.

Why an Attestation?

An attestation is proof that a treatment actually took place. Without this proof, the mutuality can't reimburse the patient. In the past, you printed this attestation on paper, signed it, and gave it to the patient, who then had to bring or send it to the mutuality themselves.

With eAttest, that last step disappears: Sophia sends the attestation immediately and directly to the mutuality. The patient no longer has to submit anything themselves, and usually gets their share reimbursed faster.

TIP

With eAttest, the patient still pays you the full amount of the appointment themselves. Only the proof for reimbursement is digital. Does the patient want to pay only the copayment, with the rest paid directly by the mutuality? Then you need a third party payment arrangement, and you use eFact instead.

How Does eAttest Work?

You send an eAttest from an appointment in the Calendar, always for one patient at a time:

  1. Open today's appointment, and click Attest.
  2. Sophia usually selects the correct eAgreement reference automatically.
  3. Optionally, add earlier, not yet attested appointments for the same patient, so they're sent together in one go.
  4. Click eAttest.

Once sending succeeds, you get an attestation number. That attestation then also appears in the overview on the Attestations tab.

TIP

For a full explanation of creating, managing, and invoicing attestations, see the Attestations and Calendar guides.

What's the Difference With eFact?

eAttest works just like the paper attestation: one patient, one appointment or a short series, sent straight from the calendar. eFact works fundamentally differently: there, you submit one request covering several patients at once, bundled per mutuality, from a separate screen. Read more about this in eFact.
